The Mile-High Hurricane Society at Colorado State University was organized in January 2001 to increase the interaction between the various research groups studying tropical cyclones both in the Atmospheric Science Department and at the neighboring Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA).

Anyone with an interest in tropical cyclones is welcome to attend or present; the seminars are informal and constructive, designed to help people with preparing for professional meetings or to present research-in-progess and get feedback and advice.
