I was born in Reading, PA and lived there (or a suburb) for 18 years. I attended the Reading School District from K-2 then the Governor Mifflin School District from 3-12. I graduated from high school in 1994, and went on to college at Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA where I double-majored in astronomy and physics with a mathematics minor.
After an internship at NASA/Goddard in the summer of 1997, I became very interested in atmospheric physics (particularly tropical convection). I chose Colorado State University for Atmospheric Science where I got my Master of Science degree in 2001. I'm working at CSU Atmos as a Research Associate in the Schubert Research Group and in the Johnson Research Group.
